Selling Or Repelling?

Selling can be a difficult task for many; myself included. How ever I am quickly learning how to improveselling the world

this area of my life and business.

While I agree that we do not want to be to pushy when it comes to selling I do feel we owe

it to our clients to be honest and truthful….and we owe it to ourselves to proudly share our talents and services

with the world.

I am currently co-authoring a book with two other amazing Canadian real estate investors and as we go

throughout the process we have been trying to determine how the story line evolves. I feel that to paint the

picture of being able to walk into a coffee shop and have someone magically appear

and teach you everything he knows about real estate is most likely never going to happen,

To be on a plane and have the Canadian real estate guru (like in Don Campbells book “Real Estate Investing

In Canada) take you under  his wing and make you a real estate success at no cost will most likely never happen. In fact we know Don

charges good  money for his courses and membership group. ( Don deserves every penny)

 

I am currently working with a marketing and lifestyle coach that I pay $3000 per month, as I want to

become better at sales and marketing. Selling is an area I have never been comfortable with so I seek out

professionals that have accomplished what I want to accomplish…..and duplicate there process. 

I would like to share with you ….. some of the points he has taught me.

Selling is as much about repelling people we do not want to work with as it is about attracting people to us.

For example:

I am launching a new Coaching program. I do not want people calling me to enquire about coaching that do not have money

and are not ready to invest in themselves. That is a waste of my time and theirs. When you let your potential clients know

up front that there is a cost and they need to be ready to invest in themselves…..when they reach out to you for help you do

not need to sell  them on price etc…they already know what they are getting into.

 

Time is your most valuable resource…..you want to protect it…. because once its gone you can never get it back.

Why is it that some people can make millions a day while others struggle to make a dollar? Wealthy, successful people

have mastered the art of selling, leveraging time, money, and relationships.

We must be willing to stand up for what we believe in. We must be willing to let others know how good we are at what

we do….The reality is if we never let people know what we are worth we will never get it!!!

” be careful what you ask for …you just might get it”

When you sell the correct way it becomes easy……Its called a reversal of energy.

  • You simple show people that you can produce the results they want
  • You let them know your value and  inform them of who you are looking to work with and  more importantly who you do not want to work with
  • Figure out what your potential clients pain points are (problems, fears, struggles)
  • Show them how to resolve their challenges and over come their fears

Once you master the art of selling you no longer need to be the pushy salesman…..people will start to come to you and be happy

to pay huge fee’s because they know you deliver results.    

More importantly you will make more money, spend less time, have less stress because you are working with a few good

clients as appose to many needy clients that stress you out…..ultimately making your life easier so you can focus on family,

friends, and or whatever it is that you love to do!!! 🙂

 

This is also about the 80/20 rule…….I want to work with the 20% that produce 80% of the income….not the 80% that produce 20% of the income.
